Info for media
All accredited media operators and journalists have access to the Media centar, located at the “Home of the Army”.
The media center is equipped with:
- Live coverage from the National TV
- Working stations
You can collect your accreditation card from the Media center that will be open for all accredited media in the following days and timeslots:
- 5th May from 15:00 to 22:00 hrs
- 6th May from 09:00 to 24:00 hrs
- 7th May from 05:00 to 22:00 hrs
The 5th and the 6th of May are the days you should collect your accreditation cards (in the above mentioned timeslots), especially due to the traffic restrictions in the central parts of the city during the visit on the 7th of May, which start from 6:00 in the morning.
On the 7th of May, if you are arriving at the media center with a private vehicle, there is available free parking in the garage St. Cyril and Methodius (above Super Tinex Market), on the street St. Cyril and Methodius.
Agenda for media operators and journalists:
Below we are sending you a detailed agenda with the timeslots for each location that you have been accredited to visit. Please make sure you arrive on time to each location because the movement at each location will be precisely coordinated and restricted according to the planned timeslots. There will be PR Officers at each locations to assist your movement and positioning.
1. Location: “ International Airport Skopje“ –Official welcome of His Holiness Pope Francis with honor army guard
All media representatives planning to cover the official welcome at the airport should arrive at the location by 6:00 the latest.
*Note: All media representatives planning to cover the official welcome at the airport will not be able to arrive on time at Location 2 – Villa Vodno.
2. Location: Plateau of the Presidential Palace – Villa Vodno – Official Ceremony
All media representatives planning to cover the official ceremony should arrive at the Plateau of Villa Vodno at 07:00 the latest. After the official ceremony, the media representatives will have the opportunity to follow the live coverage of the address by His Holiness Pope Francis to the high state officials, the civil sector representatives and the diplomatic core in the country, through a video monitor at the Plateau in front of the Villa. In addition, a satellite link from the live coverage inside will be provided on site.
*Note: All media representatives planning to cover the official ceremony at the presidential Villa Vodno will not be able to arrive on time to attend the activities on Location 4 – The Holy Mass at the Square Macedonia.
3. Location: Meeting with religious leaders in the memorial center of St. Mother Teresa – there is no media access
* For all National TV stations there will be two stand up positions for tuning in live from the Media center:
- Terrace Media Center
- Plateau of Media Center – press corner
All media representatives will have access to a satellite link that can be used for direct coverage of the visit of the memorial center St. Mother Teresa and the meeting of His Holiness with the religious leaders and relatives to Mother Teresa.
After the meeting with the religious leaders, Pope Francis will have a meeting with the vulnerable groups of citizens in the outdoor amphitheater behind the memorial center.

4. Location: Public Square „Macedonia“ – Holy Mass
Due to the restrictions of movement in the pedestrian areas of the restrictive zone, the transfer of Media Operators (cameramen and photographers) to the Holy Mass will be conducted from the Media Center in several organized groups at specific timeslots:
First group at 08:15
Second group at 08:30
Third group at 08:45
Fourth group at 09:00
During the Holy Mass, all media operators will be provided positions on special platforms on both sides of the central stage.
All other media representatives will have the opportunity to attend the Holy Mass at the square among other present citizens, with using the accreditation card as a pass in the secured zone. In addition, the live coverage of the Holy Mass will be provided in the Media center.
During the Holy Mass there will be no opportunity to organize live stand ups from the special platforms for media operators. That possibility is provided outside the fenced area at the square and in front of the Media center.
5. Location: Catholic Church / Pastoral Center – Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Meeting with Young People
The National TV stations planning to cover the Inter-religious meeting with the youth should arrive at the Pastoral Center no later than 15:00 hrs.
*Note: All National TV stations planning to attend and cover the ecumenical and inter-religious meeting with the young people will not be able to arrive on time on Location 7 – Departure and farewell at the airport.
6. Location: Catholic Church/Pastoral Center – Meeting with priests, their families and consecrated people – there is no media access
All media representatives will have access to a satellite link that can be used for direct coverage of the meeting of His Holiness Pope Francis with the priests, their families and consecrated people.
7. Location: “International Airport Skopje“ – Departure of His Holiness Pope Francis and Farewell with honor guard
All media representatives planning to cover the farewell at the International Airport Skopje need to arrive at the location at 16:00 the latest.
