The Pontiff of the Roman-Catholic Church, Pope Francis, within the frames of his apostolic visit to the Republic of North Macedonia, after the official welcoming and meeting with national representatives, President Gjorge Ivanov and President of the Government Zoran Zaev, visited the Memorial House of Mother Theresa where he met the highest representatives of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, the Islamic Religious Community and other religious communities, religious leaders, relatives of Mother Theresa and citizens from vulnerable categories.
In the Memorial Center “Mother Theresa” Pope Francis was welcome by the High Nun and the three sisters from the Missionaries of God’s Love, the order of Mother Theresa and a child who presented the Pope with a bouquet of flowers.
Pope Francis prayed before the relics of Mother Theresa that are placed on the altar in the Chapel within the Memorial Center of St. Mother Theresa. “We pray, St. Mother Theresa, mother of the poor, to especially represent and provide your help here, in the city of your birth, the city that was your home. Here, you received the gift of rebirth in the sacred mysteries of the Christian initiation. Here you heard the first words of the faith in your family and the community of believers. Here your parents taught you to love those who need it the most and to help them”, said Pope Francis in his prayer.
